Experience the legendary Trans-Siberian Railway and the Trans-Mongolian Railway on board a private charter train. Grand Trans-Siberian Express offers a choice of 4 accommodation categories from Economy to Deluxe as well as a restaurant, a bar and a conference area for lectures. From Russia to Mongolia you travel on-board the Grand Trans-Siberian Express. On the final sector between Ulaanbaatar and Beijing passengers now have two options, either to fly or by train. This trip is very different in style and content to our regular Trans-Siberian journeys. It is a group departure and has all the day trips and excursions included. You can add an extension from Saint-Petersburg to Moscow with accommodation in Saint-Petersburg, overnight or express day train and extra nights accommodation in Moscow, along with a number of additional tours in Saint-Petersburg and Moscow.
Day 1 Arrival in Moscow
“S Priezdom! Welcome to Moscow!” You meet your tour guides at Moscow airport and they will transfer you to the hotel. There will be time to relax before this evening’s dinner. Accommodation in a 5★ hotel.
Day 2 Departing Moscow
A full day sightseeing tour which includes the magnificent Red Square, and the grounds of the world famous Kremlin. This evening transfer to the Railway station. Your private train the “Grand Trans-Siberian Express” is waiting for you to board. The first leg of the almost 6000 miles long journey to Beijing is about to commence. Welcome dinner and accommodation on-board the Grand Trans-Siberian Express.
Day 3 Arrival in Ekaterinburg
Evening arrival in Ekaterinburg the “Capital of the Ural Mountains” Overnight in a 4★ hotel.
Day 4 Departing Ekaterinburg
During the course of the city tour you will see the newly erected Cathedral-on-the-blood, a memorial erected to mark the assassination of The Romanov Family in 1918. This afternoon an excursion into the Ural forest takes you to the Ganina Yama, which today is considered by Russian as a “holy place” Then back on-board to continue your journey passing across the plains of Western Siberia.
Day 5 Arrival in Novosibirsk
Arrival to Novosibirsk which is situated in, the heart of Siberia. Today’s city tour includes a visit to the Opera House, which is the biggest in Russia and situated in Lenin Square. You will also have the opportunity to see some remarkable orthodox churches which survived the Soviet period. Overnight in a 4★ hotel.
Day 6 Departing Novosibirsk
Today’s city tour includes a visit to the Opera House, which is the biggest in Russia and situated in Lenin Square. You will also have the opportunity to see some remarkable orthodox churches which survived the Soviet period. This afternoon an excursion out of the city into the Taiga, the “real Siberian forest.
Day 7 Arrival in Krasnoyarsk
Arrival to Krasnoyarsk, formerly a “closed city” during Soviet times. The city is located along the Yenissei River which is the greatest river system flowing to the Arctic Ocean. During a river cruise on the Yenissei you will have a fantastic view of the city and the huge railway bridge that crosses the river.
Day 8 Arrival in Irkutsk
Mid-morning arrival to Irkutsk the capital of Eastern Siberia. Your city tour will include a visit to the old town with its large quarters still consisting of wooden houses. The cultural highlight of the tour is a private classical concert held in a the home of former Duke Volkonsky. Accommodation in a 4★ hotel.
Day 9 Port Baikal and Listvyanka Village
Today The Grand Trans-Siberian will “run” at low speed along the scenic Circum Baikal Railway line between Sludyanka and Port Baikal. A photo stop will be arranged at a small village where you can get off the train, put your feet into the clear and cold water of Lake Baikal and also includes a visit to the typical wooden houses of local people. On arrival to Port Baikal a boat takes you on a short cruise on Lake Baikal to Listvyanka Village. A walk through the village shows you to St Nicholas church, a typical orthodox wooden build church beautiful renovated in the 1990’s. During today’s Siberian lunch you can taste the famous Omul fish, which can only be found in Lake Baikal. The Grand Trans-Siberian Express continues heading towards Ulan-Ude.
Day 10 Arrival in Ulan-Ude
The Grand Trans-Siberian makes its last scheduled stop in Russia, in the city of Ulan-Ude. Here there will be a city tour of the Buryatian capital. This evening the train reaches the Russia/Mongolia border. Immigration formalities will take place on-board the train. You may stay in your compartment and don’t have to leave the train.
Day 11 Arrival in Ulaanbaatar
Morning arrival in the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar. During today’s sightseeing tour you will visit the famous Ghandan Monastery, the central Sukhabaatar Square, and the Bogd Khan Museum. At the Zaisan monument viewpoint you will have an excellent view of the city which is surrounded by large areas of yurt settlements. An amazing cultural music and dance show will introduce Mongolian folk music and culture to you. Accommodation in a 4★ hotel.
Day 12 Excursion to Terelj and Mini Naadam Show
Today an unforgettable excursion to the Terelj National Park. Within the National Park you will have the chance to meet a herder family inside their yurt. This afternoon a show has been specially arranged for the participants of the Grand Trans Siberian Express. The show will demonstrate three disciplines of the Mongolian National Naadam festival: Wrestling, Archery and Horseracing. Accommodation in a 4★ hotel.
Day 13 – Flight Depart Ulaanbaatar, Arrival in Beijing
Another day to discover UIaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Today you will visit the Historical Museum which uncovers the long history of the Mongolia from Genghis Khan’s times until today. This afternoon is at your leisure and if you wish you will have the opportunity to visit a cashmere factory and see how the famous cashmere clothes are designed and produced. This evening a 2 hour flight takes you from Ulaanbaatar to Beijing the capital of China. Accommodation in a 4★ hotel in Beijing.
Day 14 – Beijing
Today’s sightseeing tour includes Imperial Palace (Forbidden City) and The Great Wall of China, the 8th Wonder of the World.. This evening a farewell dinner featuring the world-famous Chinese dish, Peking Duck. 4★ hotel in Beijing.
Day 15 Journey Ends
This unique and unforgettable experience comes to an end and you start your return journey home.

Standard Economy Cabins
The budget way of travelling
3 or 4 persons per cabin
This category is popular with those looking for the most economical way of travelling and is usually booked by families with children or friends travelling together. Standard Economy sleeping cars are equipped with 2 lower beds and 2 upper beds. Toilets and wash basins are situated at both ends of the cars for the common use. The cars are air conditioned (central control). The air condition operates only during the time the train is moving. Sockets for 220 V are available in the car, capable for razors and loading mobile phones, cameras and notebooks. The Standard Economy cars offer 9 cabins each and may be booked only by 3 or 4 passengers travelling together. In the hotels the 4 passengers are staying in 2 double rooms, 3 passengers are staying in 1 double and 1 single room.

Standard Plus as well as Deluxe Silver are the most popular type of accommodation on our private train. Standard Plus cabins are equipped with 2 lower beds and 2 upper beds. While only the two lower beds are used for sleeping, the two upper beds can be used as additional storage for luggage – or they simply can be folded away. Toilets and wash basins for common use are situated at both ends of each Standard Plus sleeping car. The sleeping cars are air conditioned (central control). The air condition operates only during the time the train is moving. Sockets for 220 V are available in each cabin, capable for razors, loading mobile phones, cameras and notebooks. Standard Plus cars offer 9 cabins each and may be booked for double or single use.

Deluxe Silver Cabins

Deluxe Silver sleeping cars offer slightly smaller cabins than on Deluxe Gold cars. Deluxe Silver cabins have a private toilet, wash basin and “wet-room” style shower en suite. Each cabin offers 1 lower and 1 upper bed, a table at the window, a chair opposite the beds, a small wardrobe and storage space. Euro-Sockets for 220 V are in each cabin, capable for razors, loading mobile phones, cameras and notebooks. The cars are air conditioned (individual control). The air condition operates only during the time the train is moving.
Deluxe Silver sleeping cars have only 6 cabins each and may be booked for double or single use.

The air condition operates only during the time the train is moving.
