Flexibility and further considerations
Upgrade to first-class or private second-class cabin.
Add an extension from Saint Petersburg to Moscow with accommodation in Saint Petersburgovernight or express day train and extra nights accommodation in Moscow, along with a number of additional tours in Saint Petersburg and Moscow.
Consider alternative tour programs and excursions in 
Ekaterinburg or Lake Baikal adding or subtracting days to coordinate with your interests, time frame and budget.
Add a sidetrip to Mongolia, along with a stop in Ulan-Ude to coordinate the onward train to Vladivostok.

Day 0
Pre tour extension
Moscow is world class in terms of attractions and we recommend to spend at least 3 days in Moscow. You should also consider visiting Saint Petersburg beforehand. We have a number of city tours and tour extensions to add on.

Day 1
We include your hotel the day before departure from Moscow. If you didn’t extend your stay before, and if this is the day you arrive, there is the option to book a transfer.  

Guided city walking tour at 2pm (or the next morning) to gain a deeper understanding of the Kremlin, museums, Novodevitchy Convent, Metro, etc. Stay the night at the centrally located 3* Arbat House hotel.

Day 2
Moscow | Train
Morning in Moscow to explore at your own pace.  Noon transfer to station and board train #82 for departure at 13:10 to Ekaterinburg, your first of several Russian trains along the Trans-Siberian Railway. (B)

Day 3
Train | Ekaterinburg
Arrive to Ekaterinburg at 17:46 and transfer to a central 3* hotel, where you will stay for two nights.

Day 4
Ekaterinburg  | Ural Mountains
Full day excursion to the city of Nevyansk (80km from Ekaterinburg), the one time capital of the Demidov dynasty, a very successful family of factory owners. The trip includes a visit to the famous and recently restored Nevyansk “leaning tower”, and the Transfiguration Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral, plus the traditional craft center and famous Nevyansk icons.
You will stop at Byngi village on the return trip for lunch. (B|L)

Day 5
Ekaterinburg | Train
After breakfast, you will have a 3 hr guided tour of the historical center with a local guide. Visit 1905 Revolution Square, Church of Spilled and the Chapel of St. Elizabeth, the Hill of Ascension, the Ural Museum of Minerals, statues of Ekaterinburg founders and communist leaders. Free afternoon before evening transfer to station, depart on train #70 at 21:50 to Irkutsk.

Day 6
On board train
The train stops around ten times per day, at cities such as Omsk and Novosibirsk  This is the ‘mid Siberian railway’, which was built between 1893 and 1898 crossing the great rivers Ob and Yenisei.

Day 7
On board train
All day on board the day to gaze out of the window and see the landscapes of eastern Siberia with its mountains, crystal-clear rivers and verdant slopes.

Day 8
Irkutsk | Listvyanka Village
Morning arrival at 08:24 into Irkutsk where you will meet your guide on station platform. Transfer by private car/minibus to Listvyanka, around one hour journey.
Introductory tour of village and visit the Lake Baikal Limnological Museum. You will stay for two nights at the wooden UD guesthouse overlooking the shores of Lake Baikal.

Day 9
Listvyanka | Lake Baikal
Hiking excursion in Baikal National Park for 5 hrs (or alternative by prior request). Your guide will instruct you on the different fauna, flora and habitats on the shore of Lake Baikal, where you will stop for a picnic lunch, with Baikal tea. (B|L)

Day 10
Free morning and return to Irkutsk, which is an important staging post on the Trans-Siberian Railway and during the 2 hr city tour you will see how the railway influenced and developed this city.  Irkutsk has an old center very easy to navigate on foot with lovely Siberian wooden architecture and an amazing history of fires and rebuilding.  
You will stay at the lovely 3* Marussia hotel,  an intimate boutique hotel in a district of wooden buildings. (B)

Day 11
Irkutsk | Train to Vladivostok
Early transfer to station for departure on train #2 at 08:06 (or on #8 at 08:59).
Today you will travel along the southern shore of Lake Baikal. (B)

Day 12 & 13
On board train
On train crossing the Russian far east.

Day 14
Train | Vladivostok
Arrive in Vladivostok on train #2 at 07:07 (or on #8 at 14:32) and you meet your driver on the platform. Transfer to 4* Astoria Hotel, where you’ll stay for 2 nights.

Day 15
Guided city tour by car (10am – 4 hrs). (B)

Day 16
Transfer to airport (or port) for onward travel from Vladivostok – End of tour (B)
