Nadaam

The Mongolian National Holiday is in July each year with large celebrations and sporting events. We change all our tours heading to Mongolia at this time of year to include as much of the Nadaam Festival as possible.

In 2010, we are also offering a special escorted trip across Russia, but timed to include the Nadaam festival in Ulanbaatar as well. Click here to read more.

Skiing

The Primorsky Mountains overlooking Lake Baikal has excellent winter conditions and a burgeoning ski resort, based at Baikalsk. We offer select trips to this area through the winter to ski some amazing fresh powder. Baikalsk does not have a huge network of lifts, or marked runs, so it is easy to find off-piste virgin slow.

Fly fishing and Cast fishing in Mongolia is a popular trip for avid anglers. We have organised specialised fishing trips across Mongolia on a number of occasions

Mongolia

In 1998 Monkey Business helped establish the Shuren Travel company in Ulanbaatar and we still have close connections with this Mongolian Travel Agency. As tourism constantly increases in Mongolia, Shuren are always looking to find new and local tourism opportunities.

Special interest tours include:

- Visiting Nomadic Cattle farmers with more than 1,000 cattle in the North of Mongolia near the Kharaa river.

- Cultural tours including religious communities in the North of Mongolia, visiting the Amarbayasgalant Monastery and the Noyon Mountains with Tsaatan, Buryat, and Kazakh nomads.

China

We no longer offer tours within China, but our longterm Monkey, Chris has left the family and now runs a travel agency specialising in personal and group tours around China. If you wish to see more of China, use The China Travel Company

We can help arrange tours for groups, or organisations. Suitable for larger groups we can help arrange extra services and ground services to meet your special requirements.

For example, we regularly help the Rotary Club arrange a trip to Mongolia and also to Russia where they meet up with their network of Orphaniges, hospices and Charitable foundations. They will carry excess luggage with gift aid donations and we help with all ground services, negotiating with the Railway Authorities and supplying guides and organising side tours around their other commitments.
