Custom MU28 - Moscow - Lake Baikal - Ulaanbaatar

ITINERARY: After a few days exploring St Petersburg and Moscow, board the train to Irkutsk and Lake Baikal. From there travel into Mongolia and visit Ulanbaatar and various tours to the countryside. End of tour.

POSSIBLE START DATES

As this is a custom trip there is total flexibility with dates, stay in Mongolia for as long as your visa allows. Return travel must be booked before departure in most cases.

Train #10 departs Moscow on EVEN dates throughout the year (2nd, 4th, etc)
Train #364 departs Irkutsk daily.

DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

-10 Arrive Moscow with 2 nights Melody Hotel
-10 Optional tours to be arranged locally, overnight
-10 Transfer to station for departure on train #10 at 23:30 (EVEN DATES)
-10 On train, passing from Asia into Europe and the Ural Mountains
-10 On train, across Siberia
-10 Arrive Irkutsk at 09:06 for with transfer to Bolshoe Goloustnoe at Lake Baikal
-10 Continue tour of village and Lake, overnight in Homestay
-10 Return to Irkutsk for 1 night at Angara Hotel
-10 Free day in Irkutsk, transfer to station, depart train #264 at 20:10 (daily)
-10 On board train crossing from Russia into Mongolia
-10 Arrive Ulanbaatar at 06:20 with City tour and transfer to Elstei ger camp, 2 nights
-10 Horse-riding or cultural excursions available, overnight at ger camp
-10 Return to Ulanbaatar for 1 night at Bayangol Hotel

PRICE NOTES
The standard price is per person, based on two people sharing. If you are a single traveller there will be a single supplement. If you are the third person on a tour you will pay a single supplement for hotel rooms, or if you specifically request a single room in hotels. Train travel is based on a standard four berth second class cabin. Upgrade to a two berth first class cabin is available on some routes and subject to availablity.
