Arive Beijing - we can book accommodation for you, or make your own arrangements. Allow yourself at least a few days to see the highlights including the Forbidden City and Great Wall.

DAY 1 Train, China
Depart Beijing train #23 at 07:45. The train journey passes the mountains north of Beijing before heading into the plains of Inner Mongolia reaching the Chinese border in the evening.

DAY 2 Tavan Dohio Ger, Gobi Desert, Mongolia
Arrive in Sainshand at 05:26. Meet guide and transfer to the ger resort. Have a rest before visiting the reconstructed Khamariin Khiid monastery, the nearby "small sandy dunes", the Gobi Saksaul forest and a camel breeding family. Overnight at ger resort where all meals are included. G1

DAY 3 Tavan Dohio Ger, Gobi Desert, Mongolia
Day trip to "Died Word" area, visit caves that the Lammas used for meditation, search for dinosaur fossils (skeletons and eggs) and see the petrified wood in the desert. Overnight at ger resort.

Free time at the ger resort with possibility of camel riding. Afternoon transfer to Sainshand to visit local museums. Evening departure on train #285 at 21:15 with your guide for the overnight trip to Ulaanbaatar.

DAY 5 Elstei Ger Resort, Mongolia
Arrive Ulaanbaatar at 08:00. Meet your guide for ight-seeing tour around the city, including the Gandan Monastery, Zaishan Hill and Sukhebaatar Square. Transfer to Elstei Ger resort. Your guide will explain local customs and introduce you to traditional living in a Ger. Dinner. Overnight. MM#2

DAY 6 Eltei Ger Resort, Mongolia
After breakfast your guide will be on hand to show you to local 'working' gers, tasting local food. Possibility of horse riding trips to the river and exploring the steppe. Lunch and dinner at the Ger resort. (Packed lunch can be arranged if away from the resort).

Breakfast before returning to Ulaanbaatar and a transfer to station for departure on train #5 at 13:20 for Moscow.

After a long night at the Russian border continue the train journey towards Ulan-Ude.

Arrival in Moscow at 14:28 where a driver and one of our reps will meet you and transfer you to Maxima Zarya Hotel. Depending on your arrival time at the hotel you will have a 3 hour orientation tour of Moscow by foot and metro either today or the next morning.
