Hotels

Our standard tour includes accommodation in a local homestay, where you will be accommodated in a modern apartment, having your own room in a family home. This is a great way to experience local living and even better as you will be treated to home cooked meals every evening.

If staying in a Homestay is not your thing, you have the opportunity to upgrade to the Gesser Hotel, where you have more privacy and have the evenings free to explore Ulan Ude restaurant and nightlife options.

We use a variety of homestays, all are centrally located and in Russian style apartment blocks. The common entrance ways hide the comfortable family homes, where your Russian hosts will provide home cooked meals through the day. You will have a private bedroom, but share the kitchen and bathroom facilities with the rest of the family.

The Geser Hotel is a Soviet Style building in the centre of Ulan Ude close to the main sights and probably the best option is this otherwise spartan City. There are 60 rooms, some better decorated than others. Reception staff speak some English and the buffet breakfast is generous.

All rooms have private bathroom, some with shower, plus television, telephone, Internet access and mini-bar. Standard rooms have twin beds.
