Important Note

The Red House Hotel was sold in December 2006! The Guide Books still have our old address listed as the Hidden Tree and after only two years we are returning to our old partnership with The Tree and moved on 8th January 2007 to the Poachers Inn.

Monkey History

Room 716 at the Qiao Yuan Hotel was the home base of Mister Monkey for five years, where he presided over the famous Beijing infocenter, assisted by his brother, the Rouble Monkey. But nothing is forever, except tax-bills! In May ’95 we moved to the Beijing Commercial Business Complex, 1.5 km west of the Qiao Yuan hotel. We moved again in April ’98, this time to the Capital Forbidden City Hotel in the same area but difficult to find. Early in the real new Millennium we packed up again, this time for better pastures. Nothing beats the Sanlitun area, and nothing beats a Belgian Beer! Our office together with the Hidden Tree was located in the South Bar street until continued reconstruction in December '04 made us move again. We spent two happy years in the Red House Hotel and have once again been reunited with The Tree, our office is in the Poachers building next door. Find our Monkeys at the The Tree and sample those famous beers for yourself!
