UKRAINE AND CRIMEA TRAVEL filed 8th April 2014

✔ Ukraine and the Crimea has been the major news in the West for some weeks now. However it is our view and a general diplomatic consensus that travel to Russia remains risk free.

Officially, there have been no diplomatic restrictions advising against a trip to Russia and no reports of visas not being issued by the Russian Embassy around the world. Although the EU and NATO are talking of imposing sanctions on Russia, this will be a long drawn out process contained to diplomatic circles and so far without any negative travel advice for Russia.

We do keep a check on the travel advisory notice issued by various governments, and you should check directly what your government say. For example, check current UK travel advice or the French diplomatic website.

And for a human perspective, our staff in Russia have assured life continues as before, it is business as usual, with nothing to report in terms of a different mood on the ground in Moscow or farther afield. There have been no noticeable concerns from our tourists in Russia and we hope you will visit in the coming months to report the same.
